Honored to bring this story to life. In a nutshell, she was in a vicious cycle but her mom relentlessly hung with her until she could finally find her true and better side. Thousands, actually more like tens of 1000’s of steps taken (shown in the painting symbolically as 12) to move toward a brighter direction even when things seemed dim. There’s always more to someone’s story and we love how this one played out!

Just pinch us. The last several commissions have been right in our wheelhouse. We call them “More to the Story” pieces because they capture someone’s story but also can’t at the same time. There’s always more underneath the surface. You’re never going to get the full story without connection and relationship. In a world full of superficial AI crap everywhere, the soul of original work with layers and layers of story built in just can’t be replaced. We love getting to know our clients and just some of their backstory. This particular collector can’t get enough of our work and also can’t quite sit still… Squirrel.

A mix of scrap paper, a photo of my parents and grandparents along with graphics and other drawn and painted elements, this piece captures the nostalgia of a day in Devou park hanging out by a 58 Chevy and having a cold Bud which is the only beer gramps would drink. He was a Budweiser delivery driver and always had a Bud nearby.
